KITTY CAT COOKIES

Kitty Fish Cakes
Ingredients:

1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup dry milk
1 Tbs. honey
3-1/2 oz. canned or cooked mackerel, mashed and boned
milk (optional)

Preparation:

Combine wheat germ and dry milk, then drizzle honey on top of the mixture. Stir in mackerel, forming the mixture into small balls. Add a little milk if necessary to get the mixture to the right texture.

Place balls on a greased cookie sheet and flatten with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees for eight to 10 minutes. The cookies should be chewy, like fudge. Place in a sealed jar and store in the refrigerator.
 

CAT COOKIES

1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup soy flour
1 tsp. catnip
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
2 tblsp. wheat germ
1/3 cup powdered milk
1 tblsp. unsulphered molasses
2 tblsp. butter or vegetable oil

Preheat the oven to 350 F. Mix the dry ingredients together. Add molasses, egg, oil and milk. Roll out flat onto a oiled cookie sheet and cut into small, cat bite sized pieces (use a pizza cutter to make bite size pieces). Bake for 20 minutes. Allow to cool and store in a tightly sealed container.
 

Polenta for Cats

3 cups cake flour
½ cup cornmeal or polenta (or about 2 cups cooked)
4 eggs, beaten
½ cup grated cheese
1 tablespoon see healthy powder recipe**
2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
1-2 tablespoons protein powder, from lactalbuminor egg albumin (optional)
1 teaspoon vegetables with each meal
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the cornmeal or polenta, stirring briskly with a fork or whisk. (Or mix the meal in ½ cup cold water first and add this to 1 ½ cups boiling water.) When blended, cover and simmer about 10 minutes or until the cornmeal is a smooth mush. While it is still hot, stir in the eggs and cheese. After the mixture has cooled, stir in the remaining ingredients.
 

Salmon Balls Rollin'

3 cups cake flour
1 egg
3 tablespoons cornmeal
6 ounces salmon
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
2 teaspoons oregano
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3/4 cup water Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all dry ingredients (cake flour, cornmeal, parmesan cheese and oregano). Add wet ingredients (salmon, egg, vegetable oil and water). Mix well. Roll into quarter size balls between the hands. Place on baking sheet sprayed with a non-stick cooking spray. Bake for 30 minutes. Cool on baking sheet. Should still be soft after cooling. Store in a sealed container.

*Healthy Powder
Combine 2 cups nutritional yeast, l cup lecithin granules, 1/4 cup kelp or alfalfa powder and 1/4 cup bone meal (or 9000 mg. calcium or 5 tsp. eggshell powder). Optional: 1000 mg. vitamin C (= 1/4 tsp. sodium ascorbate) and 1 tsp. garlic powder. keep refrigerated.
